Every year for 6 weeks in the summer, Bournemouth University run a competition where around 6-7 different teams compete and create an animated sequence for a chosen charity. In order to be selected for this competition, my team and I had to create a
of all of our latest work and send them together to see if we were good enough to take part and had enough of a balanced team to participate.
A few weeks down the line and we had an email back from Saf, one of the organisers to let us know that we had got through and that we had to start pre-production as soon as possible so that the charity can give us feedback on what we should do and change.
We also got an email from them regarding the script that had been written for us by one of the screenwriting students at the university who had also won a competition in order for their script to be a part of BFX. From then on, we made designs and concept art for environments in the script and on a weekly basis, we had a Skype talk with the scriptwriter and also another professional writer about what we should change and what they liked about what we had so far.
A few months down the line, we had a deadline for the pre-production for this project which meant that as well as my university deadlines, I also had this to complete.
Once we went to Bournemouth to participate at the start of Summer, we had to pitch our ideas, including the concept art and the blocking of the animation in the environment.
One person who attended this pitching to provide feedback was Tom Box, creator of the company BlueZoo so we stayed in contact with him and BlueZoo throughout the 6 weeks.
Once again, all of this feedback was in person and I don't have any proof of this.
